ION Solar is a full-service provider for solar sales, installation, and service. Energy advisors conduct an initial screening to determine if you’re a good fit for solar. If you enter into an agreement with ION, a dedicated project manager is assigned to work with you every step of the way. Design and permitting professionals will also work with a homeowner’s city to ensure all installation requirements are met.
A zero down payment program is available for qualified customers, meaning there are no significant upfront costs.
ION offers four different agreement options, including 12-year and 20-year loans, a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and an outright purchase. Each of these includes a 25-year inverter and solar panel warranties. A 10-year roof warranty also eases concerns about the impact that heavy solar panels will have on your roof.
The company assists with transferring ownership of the solar system if you sell your home. Customers can also earn $200 from ION if they refer a friend or family member who switches to solar power.

ION does not currently offer backup battery storage installation because it is considered too costly for the average homeowner. That is counterbalanced by the fact that most of the company’s systems tie into the electric grid.
Also, you are not always able to monitor your home’s energy production. If you enter into a PPA agreement with ION, the company will monitor the system instead. If you purchase your system outright or take out a loan, you can view your home’s energy production through an app on the company’s website.
